The Resound Paintings are projected re-imaging of phrases selected from poems written by an early mentor of mine. Each word of the phrases is represented by an open box-like form that simulates a visual ‘sounding out’. The painting’s organization becomes a unity of multi-directional word-boxes, recalling how individual words (each with unique etymologies) are combined to create novel import.
Using a chromatic based alphabet, the form of each ‘word-box’ radiates from inside to outside.
