X and I drawings

After passing through a very serious illness, with deep gratitude I felt the need to formally recognize the long-time friends and very helpful acquaintances who helped me.

These drawings are of fruit tree structures, drawn plein air. I selected fruit trees because of their nourishing capacity. The colors of each tree is a stand-in for the person I am contemplating (and thanking). The particular color is a chromatic translation of the person’s first name; for example: Crimson = C = Christopher. The indigo colored bars are for I (indigo = I); that is, me. Hence, each drawing is about the richness and intricacies of my interactions and memories with the selected person.
